Sally Dougan: Scanning Nature
I am fascinated by the beauty and subtle qualities of nature's simple treasures -- flowers, wildflowers, leaves, grasses, seeds, weeds, pods, vegetables, and fruits -- and feel that I show their unique characteristics more richly through my digital imaging process than via traditional photography.
My compositions highlight the intricate details of color, shape, texture, and habit of petals, leaves, veins, stems, etc., and bring out what I see as the essence of the subject's true character and "spirit."
I offer giclée prints, available in a variety of sizes to suit the installation setting. The consistency of the black background treatment allows the prints to work well together in groups or series, as well as individually. White mattes and black frames help the images "pop."
